Terms of Use
These terms are the deal between you and Kidside, run by Kevin Beck ("Kidside", "we", "us"), when you use the Kidside app or this website. We have tried to write them in plain language. By creating an account or using Kidside, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Kidside.
1. Who can use Kidside
You must be 18 or older. Kidside is for parents and the adults who help care for their children. Children may not create accounts.
2. Your account
- Give accurate sign-up information and keep your password and passcode to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has gotten in, change your password and email support@kidsideapp.com.
- Only invite people you mean to share your family's information with. Your co-parent sees the whole family record. Caregivers see the calendar.
3. The beta
Kidside is in beta. Features may change, break or go away, and there may be bugs. Please don't rely on Kidside as your only copy of anything important. Export your records from time to time.
4. The record is permanent
Messages, schedule history, requests and decisions, events, expenses and payments can't be edited or deleted once saved, by you or by your co-parent. That is what makes the record trustworthy. Think before you send. If you get something wrong, add a correction.
5. How you agree to behave
Don't use Kidside to:
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone,
- post anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to share,
- pretend to be someone else, or get into an account or family that isn't yours,
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the app or its servers.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Kidside is not legal advice
Kidside is a tool for organizing and recording co-parenting. It is not a law firm and does not give legal, financial or medical advice. Side Check counts days on the schedule you entered and can quote order text saved on your phone. It doesn't interpret your order. Your parenting order and the court are what count. If the app and your order disagree, follow your order and talk to a lawyer.
7. Money between parents
Kidside helps you track shared costs and reimbursements. When you pay through Venmo, Cash App or PayPal, the payment happens in their app, under their terms, not in Kidside. If card payments are offered, they are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own page. Kidside does not hold your money, and we are not responsible for payments made or not made between parents, or for errors in amounts you enter.
8. Your content
What you put into Kidside is yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people in your family, only so we can run the app for you. We don't sell it and we don't use it for ads. See the Privacy Policy for details.
9. Our stuff
The Kidside name, mark, app and website belong to Kidside. You can use the app for your own family. Please don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer it.
10. Closing your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time. See section 8 of the Privacy Policy for how that works and what stays in a shared family record. We may close accounts that break these terms.
11. No guarantees
We work hard to keep Kidside running and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
12. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Kidside is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for losses from decisions you or anyone else makes based on what is in the app, including in a court case. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and let you know in the app if the change matters. If you keep using Kidside after that, the new terms apply.
